Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup Butter or Margarine, melted divided
  • 3/4 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Baking soda
  • 1/2 cup Boiling water
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1-1/3 cup Flour
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 10 oz. Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Coarsely chopped pecans
  • 1-3/4 cup Hot water

Procedures

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C]
  2. Generously butter 9×13 inch [23x33 cm] baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, combine cocoa and baking soda; blend in 1/3 cup melted butter.
  4. Add boiling water; stir until well blended.
  5. Mix in sugar, eggs and remaining butter.
  6. Add flour, vanilla and salt.
  7. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips.
  8. Pour into well greased baking pan, bake for 35.
  9. Underdone is better than overdone!!
  10. Cool
